Earlier this year Volkswagen spent close to $8 million to air their Darth Vadar meets the VW Passat advertisement. It received a saturation of around 17% of viewers (About 13 million viewers ). So, it cost them $8 Million to get 13 million viewers to stay tuned during their commercial. However, when they placed it on YouTube it has received 47 million views, and it cost them NOTHING.
It’s hard to beat that return on investment.
